SON SERVERA is not for the feint hearted. It´s
very narrow nine holes play through dense pine forest
and if you can't hit the ball straight as an arrow,
keep the driver in the bag. The course plays right
next to the sea on the 8th and 9th so you can go for
a swim to cool off when you lose your ball for the
10th time.

While we understand why
people who have traveled 1,000 miles to play golf,
may wish to avoid a nine hole course, We present this
argument. Were, Son Servera 18 holes, one would have
to book well in advance to play here. The fully tree
lined fairways extend to nearly every hole and some
are extremely tight, furthermore this track is seriously
well bunkered. The green-keepers do a fantastic job
and the club house staff are very helpful. So we suggest
this. You pay for 18, play nine, enjoy a short break
then set out again, given that the course lay out
will be fresh in your mind, you back yourself to improve
your score.

This is the first course I ever played in Mallorca
(I think Moses was the professional). The par 4 eighth,
at a huge 418 mts (460 yds), wider than most of the
course, but two fairway bunkers to the left are measured
to catch both the average tee shot and the big hitter
who tries fly the dog leg. Avoid these then take on
the well bunkered green. |
