One
of the Newer courses in Mallorca, GOLF DE SON TERMENS
opened on May the 11th 1998. Situated 10 kms from
Palma. Depending on your game you'll either love it
or hate it. The course is very difficult with stamp
sized greens and rollercoaster fairways. Very Challenging
and well worth a visit.
A Golfers View:
Situated about 10 kilometres
due north of Palma and very accessible for those staying
in and around the south west of the island, Son Termans
is a pure joy. Tranquilly set in the shadow of the
Tramuntana mountain range, the course was built on
what was previously a hunting estate, so don’t
surprised to see a good number of game birds such
as partridges. Not overly difficult and fairly short
at 5,800 yards. Son Termans is a big favourite with
people living on the island. Tight for the most part
with undulating fairways but always fair. After your
game, enjoy a drink on the beautiful terrace which
overlooks the entire course. Author’s
favourite:
The short par 4 first (229 mts)
eases you in to your game, but don’t get complacent
because the second can be a bit of a pig. From then
on the course appears to get tougher and tougher.
Back to back par 5s, (numbers five and six) while
not long, feature narrowing fairways and big greens.
No par 5s on the back nine is somewhat unusual, but
the clever mixture of par 3s and 4s will keep you
on your toes.
Nb: I cannot recall ever receiving any negative feedback
from Son Termans.
