Opening in 1964 this is the oldest
of all the Mallorca courses, it´s quality
is second only to Andratx. The course is tricky
for the casual golfer and as is par for the course
in Mallorca, can get very busy. The holes include
dense forest and almost no water and is also very
hilly. The spectacular cathedral looks over the
6th green, and all of the holes have great views
of the mountains and Palma Bay.
A
Golfers View:
Beautifully situated
in the heart of the exclusive estate of the same
name, Son Vida Golf while fairly short in length
is testing for players of all abilities. A mixture
of wide and narrow undulating fairways and smallish
greens make for a comprehensive golfing experience.
One or two water hazards may catch out a sloppy
shot, but generally a very fair course with few
nasty surprises.

favourite:
The par 5 sixth is a very tight for most of its
457 mts. Straight and downhill, no bunkers but a
tricky little green. Also look forward to the quirky
par 3 eighth (133 mts), a very steep drop to the
green where many tee shots are left short following
poor club selection. Note. The beautiful Hotel Castillo
Son Vida re-opened, following a comprehensive refurbishment,
in early 2006. While expensive, this is a great
golfer’s hotel with fabulous facilities including
its own spa centre and the best buffet breakfast
anywhere in Mallorca, always a bonus!
